Dr. Supinder Lotay (Supi) was born and raised in Winnipeg, in a year he has never admitted to and never will. He went to the world renowned University of Manitoba where he graduated dentistry in 2004. He enjoys all aspects of dentistry however, is particularly keen and interested in Root Canal Treatment, Crown and Bridge and Cosmetic Veneers.
He has the same belief as the other dentists and staff at EKD; Our Patients are our Family. He is very understanding and he and his team try their best to make the dental experience as enjoyable and stress free as possible for all patients.
He has a beautiful and unbelievably patient wife, Dav, and two amazing but high maintenance young children, Viren and Ria (who prefer to be called Spider-man and Black Widow). He loves to see patients of all ages and especially those that are as cool and hip as he “thinks” he is.
When he isn’t working, he enjoys spending time with his family (his wife said this had to go first), going to Winnipeg’s amazing restaurants, watching the JETS with whom he has an unhealthy emotional attachment to, going to crossfit (cause sometimes you just gotta go), having massages after those classes, travelling, and helping other people and patients plan their vacations. He also loves to work on his favorite hobbies which include “Netflixing”, working on his music (a grunge meets 90’s hip hop vibe) and writing entertaining bios at a nominal fee.
Dr. Supinder Lotay is a Punjabi speaking dentist and is also fluent in English, French and Hindu.
Dr. Alex was born in Ukraine, where he lived until the age of 7, when his family moved to Israel. After spending a significant part of his life in Israel, he and his family decided to make a home in Canada.
He comes from a family of dental professionals, with his grandfather and father being a lab technician and a denturist. Their choice of profession inspired Dr. Alex to become a dentist.
Dr. Alex graduated from the faculty of dentistry at the University of Manitoba with a DMD dental degree and a Bachelor of Science in dentistry degree.
In 2018, Dr. Alex completed a Master of Science Degree in Implantology at the Goethe University in Frankfurt.
Dr. Alex has also been actively involved in continuing education programs since graduation, predominantly in the area of implant dentistry. He is proud to offer implant dentistry services to the patients of East Kildonan Dental.
For the past several years, Dr. Alex has participated in annual dental missions to Guatemala through an organization called Health Outreach. The main purpose of these mission trips is providing dental services to underprivileged people in the rural areas of Guatemala. While in Guatemala, he also developed a soccer program for local children and holds an annual drive for donations of gently used soccer equipment and a soccer tournament between local villages.
He was a clinical instructor at the college of dentistry in the area of dental diagnostics and surgical sciences, a position he held from 2011 to 2023.
Dr. Alex believes that being a dental professional is only part of his role in the community. He is involved in the Jewish Foundation since right after graduating he established a scholarship for young adults who wish to pursue post-secondary education and he sits on their grants committee on that foundation.
Dr. Alex is fluent in English, Russian, Hebrew, and is currently working on his Spanish.
Synjyn was born in Winnipeg, MB and grew up in the Garden City area his whole life. He completed his D.M.D at the University of Manitoba Faculty of Dentistry in 2022. Subsequently, he decided to continue his education, pursuing an Advanced Education in General Dentistry and completed the certificate program at the University of Connecticut in 2023.
At the University of Connecticut, Synjyn practiced all areas of dentistry including implant surgeries, surgical extractions and esthetic dentistry. Synjyn believes that one of the most important aspects of dentistry is building a good rapport with his patients to ensure that they are comfortable in the chair and with their oral health after any appointment. His focus on educating and being completely transparent with patients makes sure everyone is on the same page. This focus helps alleviate any anxiety that being in the dental chair may cause.
Synjyn is also a part-time clinical instructor at the University of Manitoba in the restorative department.
His interests include expanding his dental skills and knowledge to build on his skill set to appropriately provide for his patients.
In his personal time, he enjoys boxing and exercise, travelling, Winnipeg’s amazing food and spending time with his friends and family. He is also fluent in English and French with a basic foundation in Tagalog.
